方正新楷体是方正楷体的深度优化版。方正楷体制作年代较早，复刻自铅字楷体字稿，限于当时的技术手段，细节不够完善。方正新楷体的笔法更为讲究，笔画分明利落，字形端正，细节精致，曲线节点的位置都有明确规则。相对原方正楷体，方正新楷体的字面稍大，中宫也稍放松，文本灰度均匀统一，是一款优良的正文排版字体。
