方正FW筑紫A老明朝是方正2020年推出的与日本合作的字体，这是「筑紫字体」系列中属于旧式风格的宋体（明朝体），其特征是优美的起笔顿入和舒展撇捺提钩。设计师对2008年发布的部分汉字进行了重新设计得更为舒展，并按照六款不同粗细重新命名，构建出整个字体家族。
收紧的中宫设计可以让文字超越图形造型，体现文字其本身的气息。排成词句后，能令字词的发音瞬间跃然于纸上。字母数字采用 Garamond 风格设计，更能衬托出汉字、假名丰富的表情和醇厚的韵味。
